FIAT Wins Quality Award in Strategic Vision’s 22nd Annual Total Quality Impact™


More automaker awards were handed out recently with Strategic Vision's 22nd Annual Total Quality Impact taking place. For the second year in row, FIAT 500 won the award for total quality in the micro car segment. The FIAT brand also tied for first place among other automakers as the best brand under $26,000.

“We see time and again that for consumers, innovation does more to communicate quality than an absence of problems does,” said Christopher Chaney, Senior Vice President – Strategic Vision. “Whether it comes in the form of breakthrough technology, re-engineering a vehicle or creating a new model, consumers feel the positive impact of bold new directions taken by manufacturers.”


Results for the awards come after more than 39,000 drivers responded with reviews for every 2016 model year vehicle. The review cover more than 155 specific categories spanning a wide variety of customer experience aspects. The end goal was to uniquely and completely measure the total owner/driving experience of each vehicle. 

“The future of quality that is meaningful to buyers will reach beyond 'no squeaks and rattles' and reside in the successful deployment of engineering innovation and technology that is relevant, intuitive and impactful,” Chaney said.

Strategic Vision is a San Diego-based research firm tally the score (called TQI) in hopes of finding a universal measurement to help car-buyers find the right vehicle during the entire purchasing process. This measurement takes positive and negative user performance into account, and also includes reliability, actual problems and driving excitement into the findings.
